Bee Friendly Carbondale

Increasing Biodiversity, Drought Resilience, and Beauty

 Bee Friendly Carbondale

is a subcommittee of the Carbondale Environmental Board. We are made up of community volunteers dedicated to increasing the biodiversity, drought resilience, and beauty of Carbondale through the use of native and regionally adaptive plants.

Our Mission

is to create a sustainable environment for pollinators and other wildlife while promoting a healthy and thriving community.

Our Goals

  • Smartly use our municipal and residential water resources.

  • Cultivate native plants in our home gardens and public landscapes.

  • Increase bee, bird and butterfly habitat.

  • Create pollinator corridors throughout Carbondale.

  • Connect our community to our natural environment.

Testimonials

"As the curator of the Carbondale Historical Society’s Heritage Gardens, I’m working with Bee Friendly Carbondale’s team and the Town of Carbondale toward replacing turf in the Thompson House Museum History Park with pollinator friendly plants. Being part of this process has been both educational and inspirational."

- Sue Gray, CHS Heritage Gardener
